Vineyards & river cruise museum Wachau

Spitz is located in the heart of the world heritage Wachau, imbedded between mountains and the Danube.

At the river cruise museum we can see app. 400 exhibits of the river cruise of the last 300 years, as e.g. tools, parts of ships and ship derelicts.

Old wine cellars & tradition

After a city walk, where we see for example the wonderful old St. Michael church as well as the Renaissance Teisenhoferhof, we invite our guests for a wine tasting. Three types of wine incl. bread („Wachauer Laberl“) are served in one of the traditional wineries.

Dürnstein

Old town & wine terraces

Dürnstein, with numerous cultural memorials located amongst vineyard-terraces, offers a wonderful old town with its maintained town wall, the famous Ruin and the Abbey Dürnstein, where we can visit an organ concert after the tour through the abbey. On demand we can explore the vineyards with a little excursion train.

Wine tasting at the baroque „Kellerschlössl“

Located at the „Dürnsteiner Kellerberg“ we can visit the exquisite

winery of the „Freie Weingärtner Wachau“,  which was built by Jakob

Prandtauer (the architect of Abbey Melk) in the 18^th century.

After a tour through the old wine cellar we can taste some of the best wines of the region (incl. four types of wine and a „Wachauer Laberl“).

Wine tasting at the „Alter Klosterkeller“

Located among beautiful vineyards, directly along the old town wall, we find the „Alter Klosterkeller“, which offers a unique view over the Danube and the Ruin Dürnstein.

Our guests can enjoy a wine tasting with three or four typical types of Wachauer wine (incl. a „Wachauer Laberl“).
