Krems Steiner Tor

Historical vine village

Krems, located at the eastern end of the Danube valley, is one of the oldest cities of the country. During our city walk we experience the more than 1000-year old history of this city at every turn.

On demand we can also visit the wine museum, located in the mediaeval convent Krems, which impresses with its remarkable architecture, its gothic cloister and the Dominican church.

From the fancy visitor centre, we reach the 900 year old subterranean wine cellars which offer a visionary staging. The tour ends with a glass of wine (included) or a wine tasting.

Sandgrube Gewölbekeller

Wine tasting at „Sandgrube“

An extraordinary staged tour shows us the wine garden, the modern wine cellar and the „adventure-flavour-cinema“.

At the end of our tour we can taste some of the best wines of Krems (either three or four types).

Stift Göttweig

Abbey Göttweig

Located in the South of Krems, Abbey Göttweig has been founded by the bishop of Passau in 1083. During the „small Abbey tour“ we see the courtyard of the Abbey with the chapel, church, crypt with feretory, and old cloister.

The „big Abbey tour“ additionally shows the “museum of the emperors” with imperial staircase, the sovereign‘s and emperor‘s rooms.

The Abbey offers also winetasting and coffee & cake, either in the Imperial wing or at the terrace with a panoramic view.
