Southern Vienna Woods

Abbey Heiligenkreuz – Mayerling – Helenental – Baden - Gumpoldskirchen

As the first part of our journey to the Vienna Woods, we visit Abbey Heiligenkreuz. During our guided tour we see the church, a gothic cloister as well as the gothic fountain house.

Continuing our journey, we drive through the picturesque „Helenental“, proceeding to the famous hunting lodge Mayerling and then to the old spa-city Baden.

Here we enjoy a city walk through the inner city or a coffee break at the famous Hotel Sacher Baden (or optionally at the cafe of the Casino Baden, located in a beautiful park area).

On our way back to Vienna we drive through famous wine regions, such as the well known wine-village Gumpoldskirchen.
